Unlimited, up to 10 Mbps
There’s no data cap, and speed never goes above 10 Mbps. The Fair Usage Policy looks at your last 3 days; if use is judged excessive, speed may drop to about 1 Mbps for a while. The threshold isn’t published.

Japan eSIM · Unlimited 10 Mbps

Hotspot total = days − 1 GB. Beyond it, only hotspot slows to 128 kbps.
The fine print, upfront
“Unlimited”, “5G” and “hotspot” each come with a limit. Here they are, right next to the promise.

Days − 1 GB: 2 GB on 3 days, up to 9 GB on 10 days. Beyond it, hotspot runs at 128 kbps.
5G works where your phone, its bands, the location and the network allow it. Elsewhere you’ll connect on KDDI’s 4G LTE. Speed and coverage vary with place, time of day and congestion.
No phone number, calls, SMS or emergency calls. Keep your home SIM for calls and texts, and use WhatsApp, iMessage or FaceTime over data.
Will my phone work?
Please check all four before you buy. Once your QR code is shown, the eSIM can’t be refunded.

FAQ
Unlimited 5G has no data cap and no speed cap on your phone. Unlimited 10 Mbps has no data cap, with speed up to 10 Mbps. A Data Package gives 12, 21 or 30 GB at full speed, shared by phone and hotspot; after that, speed drops to 128 kbps. The Fair Usage Policy applies to every plan.
Yes, on every plan. Unlimited 5G and Unlimited 10 Mbps include a hotspot total of days − 1 GB (2 GB on 3 days, up to 30 GB on 31 days); beyond it, hotspot runs at 128 kbps. A Data Package shares one total between phone and hotspot. Some Android phones need one extra APN setting for hotspot, and our setup guide shows how.
You’ll connect on 5G where your phone, its bands and the local network support it. Everywhere else, you’ll connect on KDDI’s 4G LTE. Speed and coverage vary with location, time of day and congestion.
Your phone must support eSIM, be carrier-unlocked, support LTE Band 18 or Band 26 (Band 1 alone isn’t enough), and be allowed for use in Japan. The eSIM is made for smartphones and tablets; routers and other devices aren’t guaranteed. Phones with the same name can differ by region, so check your exact model number.
Plans can’t be topped up or extended, so please choose enough days. Until you show your QR code or activation code on My Page, you can cancel for a full refund, even after our email has arrived. After that, refunds aren’t available. If the eSIM then won’t work in Japan, contact us and we’ll check and send a replacement eSIM. Replacements don’t cover phones that don’t meet the requirements, connection settings such as the APN that weren’t applied, or a deleted eSIM.
